Laissez les bons temps rouler!

It's Mardi Gras time in the South and we've been having a blast! Today is Fat Tuesday, which is actually the close of the season. My little family and I have celebrated in many traditional ways. We turned our Christmas tree into a Mardi Gras tree.

We have eaten our fair share of delicious king cakes and other treats.

And of course, we have jumped, screamed and shouted... throw me something mister... with the rest of our fellow citizens at the local parades.

Pascagoula parade fun - This parade was the weekend before Mardi Gras. It is the parade I grew up attending, so of course we had to make a trip to this one. The boys decided to stay home, but Elie sure had a blast and came home with a bag full of beads.

Biloxi parade fun - The Mardi Gras day parade in our area! Several Krewes join together to make a huge parade. It's always a lot of fun! We brought chairs and food and just enjoyed the day!

And of course, we prepped with the best Mardi Gras music ever... Harry Connick Jr!

Gulfport night parade fun - The day parade wore Isaac out, so John stayed home with him, but Chris, Elie and I had fun even though this was a short parade.

Now that Mardi Gras is over, we've partied, and we're headed back to work and school. We've got enough beads and moon pies to keep us until the next years festivities come along. And more than enough king cake pounds to work off, if king cake calories actually count, which I'm inclined to believe that they don't!
Well, until next time, keep being classy and sassy!
